Project Manager

Provide high-level project management and coordination between project teams , management and other departments in the development of various products from initial concept through production.

Qualifications

  • Project management experience
  • Proven track record in ability to drive a project to completion in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated success in bringing together cross-functional teams for effective problem resolution and timely project completion
  • Takes ownership for leadership of projects through identification and leverage of team members' knowledge and strengths to move projects forward effectively
  • Proven success in challenging outcomes throughout projects to determine necessary changes to project or processes
  • Ability to understand the technical aspects of the project and determine the right questions to ask that will steer the project in the most effective direction
  • Ability to work with Production, Marketing, and Engineering departments located internationally
  • Proven communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills through success in previous project management experiences
  • Experience with some form of Agile process
  • Experience with incremental software development processes
  • Proficiency with planning tools
  • Experience and desire in working with teams across multiple time-zones and countries
  • Experience in the wireless industry including handset, application, or content development a plus
  • Consumer electronics industry experience a plus
  • Experience and understanding of using and creating Open Source software and hardware
  • Experience in using and defining source code control systems, especially distributed source code control based systems such as Mercurial and Git
  • Designing and implementing security into systems from the ground up
  • Defining and using continuous integration and software release based software processes
  • Experience with and implementing Agile based processes a plus


Job Tasks

  • Track and maintain the development of products and their associated accessories through coordination with software engineers and other project stakeholders
  • Provide guidance and leadership through definition of clear objectives, timelines, and milestones to internal and external staff working on project
  • Coordinate and attend weekly project status meetings
  • Understand market commitments and ensure product schedules can meet those commitments
  • Gather and clearly communicate requirements to the project teams
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a flawless product introduction and initial deliveries to customers
  • Work with Product Managers to coordinate relatively complex projects across multiple functional areas, managing ongoing action items while tracking and reporting progress
  • Create system level test plans, oversee the execution of these tests and the associated feedback, and track corrective actions taken as a result of testing
  • Create customer training plans, oversee the execution of these plans and the associated feedback, and track corrective actions taken as a result of executing plans
  • Create external beta testing programs, oversee the execution of these programs and the associated feedback, and track corrective actions taken as a result of beta testing
  • Manage requests for derivative products and ensure they are defined, forecasted, and produced according to plan
  • Provide training and project management guidance to engineers and staff
  • Schedule, facilitate, and document meetings as necessary
  • Perform other duties required to complete tasks assigned
